SEARCH COMPLETED - Vantage Leadership Consulting - CONSULTANT

SEARCH COMPLETED – Vantage Leadership Consulting – CONSULTANT

Location: Philadelphia, PA or Baltimore, MD

Vantage is a Chicago-based professional services firm and for close to four decades, Vantage Leadership Consultants have been trusted advisors to companies around the world seeking to build exceptional leadership capability throughout their organizations. The team at Vantage Leadership Consulting takes great pride in executing practical, efficient strategic talent management programs that are tailored to each organization’s unique needs.

The Vantage Leadership Consulting clients share the core belief that competitive advantage comes from extraordinary leadership. The team at Vantage starts from the assumption that their customers have a deep understanding of their problems and strengths. The team at Vantage then elicits their customer’s best thinking and contributes their own, until together they find a solution– an assessment tool, a succession plan, a coaching model – that will add significant value to the client organization. Throughout an assignment, the team at Vantage evaluates progress to confirm they are on the right track. And at the close of each engagement, they review the consulting work to determine its impact. This process ensures that their clients receive a full return on their investment.

The Vantage Leadership Consulting mission is to add value that can only come through the careful tailoring of every project. They don’t offer “off-the-shelf” products or “quick fix” solutions. The team at Vantage understands that resiliency and adaptability are essentials – for both businesses and the consultants who support them.

The Vantage Leadership Consulting team engages in a wide range of consulting for leaders, teams and organizations. The continuum of work includes: executive assessments, assessment centers, executive coaching, learning development programs, high performance team solutions, high performance team certification, team assessments, team coaching and development, succession planning, BOD self-evaluation, culture audits and stocktaking, establishing a leadership model, and facilitation and workshops.
You will join the Chicago based consulting team as a Consultant and you’ll work and live in one of the desired client centered Northeastern US locations. You’ll work with clients from Washington DC through New York. You’ll occasionally partner with a Vantage Leadership Consulting Partner in a wide range of consulting opportunities that will expose you to senior executive level work; however, your primary work is heavily based in assessment of mid level management to include behavioral based interviews, interpretation of psychometric instruments, role play, and the integration of all information in thoughtful, well-written, and business relevant assessment reports.
In general, your primary responsibilities revolve around four areas:
First, we expect you to devote some 70% of your time to the delivery of consulting services that will include individual assessment work, participation in assessment centers, OD and HR-relating consulting, high performance teams, and the delivery of 360° feedback. Eventually, we expect to engage you in individual executive coaching and increasingly involve you in those projects in support of high potential development. We would hope that over time, the primary thrust of your training and consulting would leverage our entire strategic talent management platform.

A second area of focus is in account management. This will include accounts that you would help manage as a member of an account team, which would potentially be turned over to you at a future time. In support of account management, you would be responsible for client interface, delivery of services, periodic assessment of client needs, as well as ensuring that your client contacts understand the full range of our capabilities. We would expect you to spend 10% to 20% of your time in this area.

A third area of focus would be in networking and business development. We would ask you to support our efforts to expand services with our existing accounts and to respond to new client opportunities as they arise. We would want you to develop proposals and to help present them accordingly. We would also ask you to build your network by attending conferences, business meetings, etc. After joining Vantage Leadership Consulting we will discuss your current network, ask you to establish a contact list, and encourage you to reach out to build business. This element of your job would take 5% to 10% of your time.

Finally, we would want you to contribute to the health and vibrancy of our firm. We look forward to your thought leadership with regard to consulting, human resources practices, and strategic talent management, and expect you to contribute to our culture and our business practices and disciplines on an ongoing basis.

PhD or PsyD in I/O Psychology preferred. Will also consider candidates who hold PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology who have a passion for AND experience in assessment and development work in a corporate setting. May consider newly minted doctoral level Psychologists who’ve had extensive exposure to the intersection of business and consulting psychology.

The right candidate is a quick study, a self-starting team player, who can work autonomously and remotely. The right candidate is comfortable engaging a wide variety of professionals and is confident in their assessment skills and their ability to quickly thrive as a consulting psychologist working for a Chicago based company. We are looking for a consulting psychologist with the ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and build client and colleague relationships. Very strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are critically important.

Strong analysis and computer skills are a plus.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and PowerPoint are important.

This is a full time consulting role.
